sudden, rapid swelling
of the lips, mouth, throat or tongue
labour or childbirth
waters breaking, more frequent intense cramps (contractions), baby coming, or just born
Requesting an appointment or home visit
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
To request an appointment:
- phone us on 01924 223 909, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
- use our online form (Patchs), we will respond within 2 working days
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm
We use a special tool to ask specific questions related to your problem. The tool will then advise whether an appointment, referral to another service, or advice is given.
Home visits
If you are too unwell or physically unable to visit the surgery, we may provide a home visit. If you think you need a home visit, phone us on 01924 223 909 as soon as possible from 8am. A clinician will contact you to access whether a home visit is needed.

- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional you prefer
- if you would prefer to consult via phone, face-to-face or video
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs.

Evening and weekend appointments
There are evening and weekend appointments available through our extended hours service (GP Care Wakefield). Phone us on 01924 223 909 during the below times to access this service:
- Monday to Friday from 6pm to 9.30pm
- Saturday from 9am to 5pm
- Sunday from 9am to 1pm
- Bank holidays from 9am to 3pm
